on “Stars & Light”. Two beautiful settings of the Nunc dimittis by Gustav Holst and Arvo Pärt are contrasted with
a Brahms motet and popular English anthems by Parry and Harris. The choir will also perform Jo Duddell’s mesmeric
“Realside” which includes soloists representing the next world with the help of megaphones!

Canticum’s final concert of the season features two of the greatest baroque choral works with top period instrument ensemble Counterpoint.
In the first half Canticum will perform Handel’s dazzling virtuoso setting of Psalm 110. After the interval the choir will be joined by the soprano, Nina Bennet, in the role of Dido for a concert performance of Purcell’s operatic masterpiece.
Music of great humour for witches and drunken sailors provides a contrast to some of the most moving and poignant scenes in baroque opera, including Dido’s famous lament.
